Pythoness Software

Some time around about 1997 or 1998, I started a little software development company that I called Pythoness Software. I was a full-time Delphi programmer back then and I thought the play on the name Pythoness was cute.

I released two commercial products under the Pythoness name, PSetting and CopyGenie. PSetting was a Delphi VCL component that sold fairly well and I eventually sold the whole product to another developer called Cooldev.com. CopyGenie was a little Windows application that enabled copying files with disk-spanning, auto recovery and a few other features that were useful at the time of floppy disks, but aren’t particularly useful today.

I also released a freeware product called Size-O-Matic under the Pythoness name. Size-O-Matic was a very popular tool because it was small, free and did just one thing. You can still find Size-O-Matic at some of the big download sites today.

Update: I was recently asked to provide a link to download the original version of Size-O-Matic. Miraculously I still have a copy, but I cannot verify it because I’m no longer running Windows. I’m not directly supporting this software, but feel free to download it if you like:
Download Size-O-Matic

I’m no longer supporting or maintaining any of these products, but there is still a fair amount of web traffic for them, so I decided to at least provide this page explaining what happened to Pythoness software in case you’re still looking. If you used any of the tools I’ve mentioned, thank you! I hope they helped.

Hey there,

I have been using Size-o-Matic for years, but recently lost it in a system change…. Any idea where I can get it again? I’ve been searching all over but no luck… all links lead to here, and you don’t seem to have it available any longer. Please help! :(
